Safari the Way it was Meant to Be

Kapoto Camp is a privately run luxury tented camp, located on private land bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve, Olare Orok Conservancy, and Mara North Conservancy. Designed for guests who value space, privacy, and meaningful wildlife encounters, our camp offers a rare combination of exclusivity and access to some of the most wildlife rich areas in East Africa. With just five tents and highly personalized guiding, we focus entirely on delivering the best possible experience for you. Here, you are never a number or part of a crowd. Every detail, every drive, and every moment in the bush is thoughtfully shaped around you, creating a safari that feels deeply personal, unhurried, and truly unforgettable.

Your Safari Experience

Your days are built entirely around you. We head out early in the cool morning air, timing each drive for the best light and wildlife activity. If you want to linger with lions in golden light, we stay. If a bush breakfast beside hippos feels right, we make it happen. Some days we return to camp for a relaxed gourmet lunch while elephants wander nearby. Other days we remain out longer, following the rhythm of the wild. Every afternoon is flexible and unhurried. We track wildlife carefully, position for beautiful light, and move at your pace. As the sun begins to set, we pause for sundowners overlooking the plains before gathering by the campfire under the stars, listening to Maasai stories. From first light to last, everything is thoughtfully shaped around your experience.

We Have the Best Guides

At the heart of your safari in the Masai Mara are our exceptional guides. Their experience, instinct, and deep knowledge of the land are what consistently place you in the right position at the right time. They read tracks, anticipate movement, and understand animal behavior in a way that turns sightings into meaningful encounters.

A Culinary Experience that Rivals the Wildlife

At Kapoto Camp, dining is an experience in itself. Enjoy thoughtfully prepared meals that celebrate fresh local ingredients and global inspiration, from authentic Kenyan flavors to refined gourmet dishes. We are especially proud of our homemade desserts, a guest favorite after a day in the bush. A wide selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages is included throughout your stay, ensuring every meal feels relaxed, generous, and memorable.

Immerse Yourself in Maasai Culture

Your time at Kapoto Camp is not only about wildlife, it is also an opportunity to connect with the rich and enduring culture of the Maasai people who call this land home. Learn simple Maa words and greetings, hear traditional stories passed down through generations, and gain insight into customs, community life, and the deep relationship between the Maasai and the natural world. Visit a local Maasai village with respect and openness, guided by those who live the culture every day. Our hope is that you leave not only with incredible safari memories, but feeling a little more connected to the spirit, resilience, and wisdom of the Maasai.

We had such a great experience at the Kapoto Camp. The staff were exceptionally attentive and friendly. We loved our tent with comfortable beds and beautiful views. Our meals were truly delicious. We loved the location, so close to the park and within the gates so we had quick access to the best safari viewing. The fences and guards let us sleep peacefully even though we could hear the animals close by at night. Overall, the people at Kapoto Camp made us feel like family and we would love to go back someday.

I just returned home after an amazing trip and stayed at this camp. First let me tell you how good the food is! The chef Dixon is a culinary genius; he made me home made, made to order delicious meals for my entire stay. I am also vegetarian and picky. I loved every bite and still couldn't get over how good it was!! They also have a great bartender; he made sure I had my favorite beer and wine. My room was perfect, it was spacious, clean, had good plumbing, and a nice hot shower. The housekeepers were great, and I took advantage of their laundry services, they would do my laundry, and I had it back within 24 hours. The camp is fenced, which ads a nice safety element since it is located within the Maasai Mara Park, and even though it is fenced they still offered an escort for me at night to and from my room. The service was incredible; another nice thing I liked was every time I came back from safari; they were there to greet me with cool washcloths to wipe off with. I slept so good while I was there and enjoyed hearing the hippos and lions in the distance. The staff here were all so very kind and friendly, they made me feel at home and my stay so enjoyable. I plan on returning next year and will definitely stay here again!

Staying at Kapoto Camp was an unforgettable experience! The camp offers luxurious amenities while keeping you close to nature. The spacious tents are beautifully designed with two large cozy beds, hot showers, flush toilets, and electricity—truly all the comforts of home in the heart of the savannah. Game drives across the Masai Mara bring you thrillingly close to majestic wildlife in their natural habitat. The dining experience was fantastic, with delicious meals that exceeded expectations. The staff was attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to elevate the experience. Falling asleep to the sounds of safari animals just outside the tent was magical. Highly recommend for anyone planning a Masai Mara safari!
